Deposit Alternatives and Entergy Mississippi’s agreement focuses on an exceptional customer experience with an option during new service activation for a subset of residential customers who would otherwise be required to provide a standard $200 cash deposit.
JACKSON, Mississippi – Deposit Alternatives is pleased to announce the successful launch of a new program within Entergy Mississippi that supports a lower cash or liquidity option for qualifying new residential customers.
The Deposit Alternatives Plan, or DAP, is key in our mission to offer unique and meaningful solutions to utility customers in Mississippi and throughout the country.
“By offering DAP, Entergy Mississippi customers now have a choice when faced with a standard $200 residential security deposit requirement,” said Deposit Alternatives CEO Mike Kerce. “The DAP non-refundable charge typically costs 50 to 60 percent less than the standard deposit.”
“On average, DAP’s lower up-front cost allows a new customer to keep $100 that would otherwise be placed on deposit with Entergy,” Kerce said. “This flexibility when activating service conserves funds for other pressing needs, making this an attractive option for customers.”
“This is a welcome, forward-looking step by Entergy Mississippi. I am pleased Entergy is pursuing policies that assist lower-income customers, especially at a time of record inflation, with the choice of a 50 percent lower entry cost.”
